We recently had Sean from Decks Plus Sydney complete a deck in our backyard and honestly couldn’t be happier with the result. Before the deck, our backyard was basically a permanent mud wrestling arena every time it rained. The area flooded regularly, the heavy tree cover meant grass never had a chance, and our kelpie Frankie seemed determined to bring half the backyard back into the house on her paws after every shower. I first met Sean at the Sydney Home Show and immediately got the impression that he genuinely knew his stuff and actually cared about the quality of his work. He came out to inspect the space, listened carefully to what we were trying to achieve, suggested practical ideas we hadn’t even considered, and then followed up with a detailed quote covering all the different options we discussed. The project itself wasn’t straightforward due to the awkward shape of the area, which ruled out a standard rectangular deck design, but Sean came up with clever solutions that made the whole thing work beautifully. Communication throughout the job was excellent — we always knew what was happening, what the options were, and what solutions he recommended. Best of all, there were no nasty surprises or creeping extra costs along the way. Sean started exactly when he said he would and completed the entire project within a week, which honestly surprised us given the amount of work involved. On top of all that, he’s just a genuinely friendly and engaging bloke. Frankie took to him immediately after a few games of ball and stick throwing, which is probably the strongest character reference our dog can give anyone. The finished deck has completely transformed the space and we’re now very much looking forward to a future with significantly fewer muddy kelpie paw prints through the house. Would absolutely recommend Sean and Decks Plus Sydney to anyone looking for quality workmanship, honest communication and someone who clearly takes pride in what they build.
