Proven Air Conditioning & Electrical

I engaged Proven Air to repair a leaking ducted air conditioning system. Following an inspection, I was presented with two options: premium routine maintenance at $894 or a full system replacement at $10,000+. The sales representative noted the maintenance may only extend the system's life by approximately 12 months. I also engaged them to relocate an existing unit and install an additional circuit breaker. The technician who handled the relocation did a good job, though he accidentally damaged a timber awning during the installation. I proceeded with the $894 premium maintenance, which was carried out on 13 February. Within weeks, water leak sounds returned, and by 5 March, water was visibly leaking through my second-level ceiling — inside the house. When I called Proven Air for an emergency callout, I was told no one could attend and was directed to complete an online warranty form. A technician eventually arrived on 11 March. He was clearly in a rush, drained what he described as an old clogged pipe full of grime, and subsequently quoted me an additional $672 for a new drain line and drain pan. I requested photos confirming the trays had been properly cleared — none were provided. I contacted Proven Air's support team via SMS the same day, sharing evidence of the ceiling damage and requesting a callback. Their team acknowledged the damage was serious — and then I never heard from them again. I engaged a second company to inspect the work. They found a sealed overflow pipe (origin unconfirmed), a tilted drainage tray still full of water, and a clogged pipe — none of which had been properly addressed. They resolved all issues for $375, and I have had no problems since. The total financial impact of this experience: • $894 — Proven Air's initial maintenance (issue not resolved) • $375 — Second company to actually fix the problem • $1,500+ — Gyprocker to repair and repaint the damaged ceiling What I find most concerning is not that problems occurred — issues happen — but that Proven Air chose to ignore a formal complaint from a customer dealing with significant property damage caused after their service. That lack of accountability is what I cannot recommend.

I cannot rate the team at Proven highly enough… Right from the get-go - with Zac who came out to check our ancient system right up to Huon & Matt who spent the day tirelessly working to remove our old system and install the new one - it has been a total dream experience. Friendly, experienced, professional and super tidy…no question was too silly and I was given a full walk through of both the all important controller inside and the outside unit before they left… When quoting, we were given 5 options to consider - starting with how we could fix our old system - all the way up to 2 options of new systems. The online system to place an order and pay is simple and again you have all the information at your fingertips to make the best decision for your home and your budget! Absolutely fantastic job deep cleaning out the blocked filter and drains on my air con unit. It absolutely frosty and I never thought it could be so quiet. Not even a drop of water or cleaning fluid split either. Also got a few good tips to keep it clean like turning it off while cooking. 10/10 would recommend the cleaning services.
