Great movers, but read this so you know exactly what to expect. Overall, a good experience with Zoom Removalists. The team took their time with everything which does mean the job can take longer than you would anticipate (you’re charged in 30-minute increments, so keep that in mind when budgeting as it will likely be double the original quote), but they’re clever when packing and far less likely to drop things than if you had friends or family helping out! That said, make sure you speak up and double-check that specific requests are followed. For example, I asked for the transit bolts to be put into my washing machine to secure the drum. I only realised after delivery they didn’t do it (they said it wasn’t necessary for such a short move), and my machine now rattles on heavy loads which is super frustrating. With no proof of it not rattling before the move though I knew raising it as an issue would be a waste of time. I’m simply mentioning it here as a warning to others to check that your requests are being heard, even if that means following the team around. I also want to flag the “Free Moving Boxes” program. It’s not quite as straightforward as it sounds. You pay per box upfront and get refunded when you return them, but not the actual day you return them and only if the warehouse decides they’re still reusable. That part isn’t made very clear. Since you don’t really have control over how they assess the boxes, you might not get back the full amount you expect. I’d personally recommend sourcing your own boxes to avoid any surprises. Taking everything I’ve mentioned into account, the moving service itself was still very good. The team did a careful, thorough job, and it was one less thing to worry about on moving day. This could easily have been a 3 or 4 star review, but overall I’d still use them again; just with a bit more knowledge going in. Hopefully the info above helps and provides useful advice when working with Zoom.
